Judge not lest yea be judged

by Dave on March 3, 2008

One of the “gurus” that I listen to (Wayne Dyer) is as very spiritual individual and is a very active supporter of forgiveness.

It is his belief that when we judge someone, we are not defining them as much as we are defining ourselves. We are spending more time being concerned about the externals than about our internals. About the things that actually define us.

So if we get out of judgment and into purpose, our lives become a far better place to visit. If our purpose it to live a good life, then we can concentrate on creating the good life. We can do this instead of trying to push our lifestyle and values on to someone else that may not want them.

When we judge people, we are trying to get them to fall within our own expectations. And it has been said that expectations are future resentments. We get resentful of someone when they do not perform as we expect them to perform.

So, if you want to keep your resentments to a minimum, do not place unrealistic expectations on others. And, to help keep this to a low roar, I need to work on not judging others and working myself.

And always keep in mind that “life is as good as I allow it to be”.
